The University of Murcia will hold about 50 workshops with the The roots: Mediterranean heritage as the protagonist all around the streets of Murcia and its main venue, El Campus de la Merced in Murcia downtown. There will be various science shows, experiments, short quotes with scientists, interactive games, trivial pursuit games, competitions, exhibitions, expositions, and scientific gyimkhanas, workshops, competitions, guided tours, etc. which will show the knowledge generated in the Mediterranean: the impact on the Mediterranean of climate change, agri-food, the improvement of the quality of life, naval technologies and the wide cultural offer of the Mediterranean arch.

Specifically, it will be possible to share knowledge related to climate change and how it affects the Mediterranean area, which hosts a wide biodiversity currently affected by changes in our coasts (such as the deterioration of the Mar Menor). Moreover, the European Corner workshop will give visibility to different European projects carried out at the University of Murcia, such as Marie Curie, Life or ITN. The European Projects Office (OPERUM) will offer information about them and, in addition, research staff involved in these actions will present their most outstanding projects.

It should be noted that the event will include a full program that will cover all the disciplines of knowledge related to Mediterranean Science in which the University of Murcia works such as archeology, food science, agrarian science, economics, ancient and modern languages, biology, geology, energy, medicine, nursing, nutrition, etc.
