Today, pets are considered full-fledged members of families, receiving increasing attention and care. In Italy, the pet food industry is experiencing rapid expansion, with a significant increase in business related to domestic animals. This research examines the impact of “parentification” on pet food expenditures in Italy.

Objective: To understand how this trend influences spending decisions of pet owners and its implications for the industry.
